The mark consists of a black circle inside of which are the words "Colorado Christian University" in all capitalized serif font. These words run in an arc along the top, inside of the black circle. Along the bottom, inside of the circle are the letters "MCMXIV" in capitlized serif font. Inside these words and letters are two black concentric circles, closely nested one within the other. Along the inside of the interior concentric circle are three words in a foreign language, one of which is along the left of the interior of the circle, one of which is along the top of the interior of the circle, and one of which is along the right of the interior of the circle. Inside the concentric circles--although slightly covering the circles in three locations--is a shield. The shield is roughly a triangular shape and its outline is made of two lines. Within this shield is a cross made of thick dark lines, the vertical line of which is centered within the shield and the horizontal line of which is slightly above the center of the shield. Within each of the thick dark lines of the cross is a thin white line, slightly off center, running the full distance of the thick dark line. Covering the intersection of the lines of the cross is an open book with blank pages.
