The mark consists of four concentric circles, the first outer circle is a narrow band, the second is a wider band within which at the top is the phrase "U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY" and the phrase "OFFICE OF INSPECTOR GENERAL" at the bottom, all in stylized font. The third circle is a thin band and the fourth concentric circle depicts a stylized sphere. Within the stylized sphere is a graphical representation of a torch with the flame slightly elevated above the torch handle. Beneath are the letters "OIG" in stylized font. Above and to the left of the "O" are three stars in a "row" curving upward toward the flame. Above and to the right of the "G" are three stars in a "row" curving upward toward the flame. Beneath the letters "OIG," along the bottom curve of the fourth concentric circle, is a graphical representation of a banner containing three words separated by center dots: INTEGRITY ACCOUNTABILITY EXCELLENCE.
U.S. Department of Homeland Security has become distinctive of the goods/services through the applicant's substantially exclusive and continuous use of the mark in commerce that the U.S. Congress may lawfully regulate for at least the five years immediately before the date of this statement.
