The mark consists of a concentric circle design comprised of an ornate circle with a design of combined lower case "p" and "b" in the middle surrounded by a larger circle. The larger circle is made up of a semicircle on top formed by the words "PORT BOSTON" in capital letters and a dark semicircle on the bottom in which the word "BURTCH" appears in capital letters. There is a star at the point where the top and bottom semicircles meet to the left and the right of the interior circle. This concentric design appears within two larger concentric circles with the outermost circle being comprised of a bold line and the next circle in being comprised of a thin line.
