The mark consists of four concentric circles. The words "MICHIGAN TART CHERRIES" are written inside of the second circle, with the word "TART" appearing in the center at the top. There is a drawing of three cherries, with three stems and three leaves, taking up most of the middle part of the most inner circle underneath and inside of the words "MICHIGAN TART CHERRIES". The word "MONTMORENCY" is written, using larger letters than used for the words "MICHIGAN TART CHERRIES", inside a ribbon which is placed below the cherries, with the ribbon crossing over and covering the bottom of all of the concentric circles, partially covering the bottom of the middle cherry, and extending behind and beyond all of the concentric circles on both the left and the right sides.
Color is not claimed as a feature of the mark.
The certification mark, as used or intended to be used by persons authorized by the certifier, certifies or is intended to certify that the goods bearing the mark either consist of 100% Montmorency tart cherries grown in Michigan or in Door County, Wisconsin due to their position within Lake Michigan's unique fruit growing climate, or are processed or manufactured from or with such cherries, and that these cherries and goods conform to production and grading standards promulgated by the certifier.
