The mark consists of a large black circular outline, with the stylized wording "SRI LANKAN AMERICAN KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE" in black font on the outer top portion of the circle, and with the stylized wording "QUENCHING THE NEED FOR SCIENTIFIC SOLIDARITY" in black font at the bottom of the circle. Inside the top half of the circle is an artistic rendering of the American flag, in red, white and blue, and inside the bottom half of the circle is the Sri Lankan flag, in yellow, green, orange, burgundy and yellow. In the center of the large circle is a smaller circle with the stylized word "SLAKE" in large black font, underneath which is a lightbulb outlined in black wherein the yellow support wires lead to a green, orange and yellow brain. At the top and bottom of the lightbulb are two arrows, the top red and the bottom blue, with each pointing to the outline of a side profile of a human head, with the left head being blue and the right head being red. The other white in the drawing represents background and is not a feature of the mark.
