The mark consists of a shield with a circular design atop it. The circular design consists of a yellow globe with a yellow eagle sitting atop the globe and a yellow anchor behind the globe, all outlined in black with a red background. Surrounding the globe, eagle, and anchor, is a green, stylized ring with a red border. The shield is green with a green and red, stylized edge and red outer border. There is a red triangle pointing inward at the top, bottom, and each side of the shield. In the center of the shield are five, yellow, seahorses. Below the shield, is a yellow banner, with the black wording "FIFTH MARINES" and a yellow knife, pointed down, separating the words, all outlined in black with a red border on the bottom. White space separates the banner from the shield. The remaining white represents background and is not claimed as a feature of the mark.
