Color is not claimed as a feature of the mark.
The mark consists of a circular design outlined by a bold, dark line, which line is broken at the bottom by a stylized arrow pointing in a counterclockwise direction. Within the arrow are two Japanese characters for the words "BU" and "DO". Inside the outline on a light background are two mirror images of a stylized pine branch, which branches emanate upwards in opposite directions beginning at the bottom of the design. Above the branches at the top of the design appear three Japanese characters for the terms "WA", "SHIN" and "RYU". In the center of the circle is a dark disc that symbolizes the Japanese rising sun. Within the disc appears the Japanese character for the word, "NIN".
The non-Latin characters in the mark transliterate to "wa-shin-ryu", "nin" and "budo" and this means "harmony truth school" (or "style")," "endurance" (or "patience") and "martial way", respectively, in English.
