The certification mark, as used or intended to be used by persons authorized by the certifier, certifies or is intended to certify that the services are provided by tour guides who have passed a test and demonstrated proficiency in the fields of South Carolina Lowcountry history, culture, and municipal regulations and have active membership in the certifier's association of tour guides.

The mark consists of two concentric circles, with the interior circle having a spiraled decoration on either side extending from the interior circle to the exterior circle, across the top and between the circles is the wording "PALMETTO GUILD", across the bottom and between the circles is the wording "CERTIFIED TOUR GUIDES", and in the center of the interior circle is a palm tree design. The black background is not part of the mark and is used to show contrast only.
