The white lines extend from the bottom of the rectangle down to the white outline of the shield. The vertical lines are smaller toward the outside edges of the shield and become progressively longer toward the inside of the shield, with the longest vertical line directly in the middle of the shield and the rectangle, directly toward the point of the bottom of the shield. The western-most line is white and the lines get progressively darker from white to gray as the mark moves eastward.
