The mark consists of design elements comprising of a dome of the Capitol Building disposed on a plurality of hills. The Dome of the Capitol Building and the plurality of hills are positioned adjacent to the literal terms "WASHINGTON" in capital letters. The plurality of hills are connected stylistically with lines on each of its sides, the line of the left side of the plurality of hills being longer than the one on the right side of the plurality of hills. The lines are positioned such that they divide the literal element "WASHINGTON" from the literal element "Journal." The literal element "WASHINGTON" is superimposed on the literal term "Journal" in a stylized font. The literal term "Journal" is superimposed on the literal terms, "BREAKING NEWS. REAL NEWS." in capital letters.
