"I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS ONE NATION UNDER GOD INDIVISIBLE WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL" AND "TACTILE BRAILLE AMERICAN FLAG" AND "COLOR KEY R RED W WHITE" AND "50 WHITE STARS ON A BLUE FIELD"
The mark consists of the current 50 star and 13 stripe flag of the United States of America. The flag is fully surrounded by a smooth bronze-colored border. The embossed bronze tactile figures on the upper left side are the stars, each of which represents one of the current 50 States, in a field of brown. Labeled at the extreme right of the recessed brown horizontal stripes is the Braille symbol of the lower case alphabet "r" preceded by an additional arrangement of Braille dots 4, 5, and 6 which symbolize their color. Between each of the recessed horizontal brown stripes are raised bronze colored horizontal stripes. At the extreme right of the raised bronze colored horizontal stripes is a brown area consisting of the Braille symbol of the lower case alphabet "w" preceded by an additional arrangement of Braille dots 4, 5, and 6 symbolizing their color. The Pledge of Allegiance appears in the following way in large brown print atop the raised bronze stripes: On the second bronze stripe, "I pledge allegiance". On the third bronze stripe, "to the Flag of the". On the fourth bronze stripe, "United States of America and to the Republic". On the fifth bronze stripe, "for which it stands, one nation under God". On the sixth bronze stripe, "indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." The first bronze stripe contains no literal element. The Braille equivalent of the Pledge of Allegiance in standard font English Braille code appears atop the recessed horizontal brown stripes. Beneath the final recessed brown horizontal stripe is an additional brown recessed area with a single lined smooth bronze-colored border. This area serves as the key, which is federally required of tactile graphics to help the Braille reader discern the image. Within this area is a key titled in raised bronze colored lettering reading: "Tactile Braille American Flag". Beneath the lettering in standard font English Braille reads as follows. Line 1: "Tactile Braille American Flag", Line 2: "Color Key", then Braille letter "r" preceded by an additional arrangement of Braille dots 4, 5, and 6 symbolizing their natural color equivalent, followed by the word "red", and a small raised rectangle box depicting the recessed brown horizontal stripes, then the Braille letter "w" preceded by an additional arrangement of Braille dots 4, 5, and 6 which symbolize their natural color equivalent, followed by the word "white", and a small raised rectangle depicting the raised bronze horizontal stripes. Line 3: "50 white stars on a blue field", then a raised bronze colored five pointed star.
The English translation of the Braille wording in the mark is "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all" "Tactile Braille American Flag" "Color Key r red" "w white" "50 white stars on a blue field".
