Inside each protrusion is a lighter colored red band with a thin yellow overline and underline with the term "OSSAU-IRATY" appearing in yellow to the right of a stylized yellow head of a ewe from Basque Country and Bearn region, with a horn and eye appearing in red. The cheese wheel and slice appear on a carving board of brown and white, with a knife of brown, gray and white. A towel of white, gray, brown, green and red also appears under the cheese slice. The stylized wording "OSSAU-IRATY" also appears in black along the lower edge of the tan circle.
