THE DEPICTIONS OF A CHEESE SLICE AND CHEESE WHEEL AND "OSSAU-IRATY"
The mark consists of a red circle with 12 equally spaced red bulb-shaped protrusions extending around the perimeter. Inside each protrusion is a lighter colored red band with a thin yellow overline and underline with the term "OSSAU-IRATY" appearing in yellow to the right of a stylized yellow head of a ewe from Basque Country and Bearn region, with a horn and eye appearing in red. Inside the red circle are three thin concentric circles of green, white and red, and an inner circle having a tan background. In the upper portion of the tan circle is a depiction of a French tudor village, in the colors red, brown, black, gray and white, with trees of green and black, and a street of gray and tan. A green and black mountain hillside with green trees appears in the village background with a sky of blue. The lower portion of the tan circle contains a depiction of a cheese wheel with a slice carved out. The cheese wheel appears in shades of yellow, brown and white, and the cheese slice appears in shades of yellow and brown. The cheese wheel and slice appear on a carving board of brown and white, with a knife of brown, gray and white. A towel of white, gray, brown, green and red also appears under the cheese slice. The stylized wording "OSSAU-IRATY" also appears in black along the lower edge of the tan circle.
