Color is not claimed as a feature of the mark.
The certification mark, as used by the certifier, certifies that the horses, branded with certifier's staggered cluster tattoo, are standardbreds or quarter horses registered in the studbooks maintained by certifier's licensees for their respective breeds.
The mark consists of double rows of clusters made by seven tattoo needles, such clusters being arranged in a staggered, not parallel relationship. The clusters are arranged to form letters and numerals which are tattoo-branded on the inside of a horse's upper lip, and arranged as an individual identification code for that horse. The actual numerals and letters are not claimed as part of the mark.
