The mark consists of rectangular label design. The top one-third of the label is set against a simulated ivory parchment background with faint tan script writing and the brown wording "CLAN" appearing above the "CKIN" of "MACKINNON" in stylized font at the top of the mark. Below "MACKINNON" is the wording "BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKY" in black script appearing over the brown wording "BLENDED & BOTTLED IN SCOTLAND" which is in all capital letters. Below the word "BLENDED" in "BLENDED & BOTTLED" is the wording "40% ALC. BY VOL.", in black. Below the word "SCOTLAND" is the wording "NET CONT. 750ML", in black. The background of the lower two thirds of the mark is a Tartan plaid design in red and green with white lines interspersed throughout the plaid. There is a horizontal green sash at the top of the plaid portion of the design with a gold line running at the top and bottom of the sash. Centered in the middle of the mark, overlaying the parchment and plaid portions, is a gold shield which displays a stylized tan drawing of a wild boar with bones gripped in its mouth and a mane in between its ears, all leaning on a piece of furled cloth. Hanging from the shield is a silver link attaching a type of man's purse, known as a sporran, in black. The top portion of the sporran is a rounded, white dome shape with a crisscross patterned background, all in white. The dome shape is outlined in gold and black and has a gold medal in the center of the dome. The center of the gold medal is in red. Hanging in the center of the sporran are three black tassels, each attached by a silver chain with a silver cap.
