The certification mark, as intended to be used by authorized persons, is intended to certify that the goods in connection with which it is used are sweet potatoes and are grown by authorized growers within the Vardaman sweet potato production area of Mississippi consisting of Calhoun, Chickasaw, Marshall, Tate, Panola, Lafayette, Pontotoc, Lee, Monroe, Clay, Lowndes, Oktibbeha, Choctaw, Montgomery, Grenada, Tallahatchie, Yalobusha, and Webster counties.

The mark consists of a rectangle that is divided into three unequal sections. The top-right section contains the word "VARDAMAN" on top of the words "SWEET POTATOES". The bottom-right section contains the phrase "THE SWEETEST SINCE 1917". The left section is overlayed with the image of a sweet potato.
