The certification mark, as intended to be used by authorized persons, is intended to certify that the goods in connection with which it is used are sweet potatoes and are grown by authorized growers within the Vardaman sweet potato production area of Mississippi consisting of Calhoun, Chickasaw, Marshall, Tate, Panola, Lafayette, Pontotoc, Lee, Monroe, Clay, Lowndes, Oktibbeha, Choctaw, Montgomery, Grenada, Tallahatchie, Yalobusha, and Webster counties.

The mark consists of an image of one partially sliced sweet potato and one un-sliced sweet potato. The words "VARDAMAN" and "SINCE" and the number "1917" are above the sweet potatoes, and the words "SWEET POTATOES" are below the sweet potatoes. The entire image and words are enclosed by a circular border.
