The mark consists of a horizontal bar that has two chains attached to it from below, one on the left side of the bar and the other on the right side of the bar; attached to said chains are three horizontal planks and superimposed thereon is the outline of the left-hand side of a whale. Each of the planks has an angled edge on both the right and left sides, such that when the planks are viewed together, a "greater than" symbol can be seen from the left side, and a "less than" symbol" from the right side. The middle plank bears a star on both the right and left sides of said plank. Within the whale is the word "MERMAID'S" and directly below it are the words "GIFTS & SOUVENIRS".
