The mark consists of the words, "GRUMPY'S EST. 1978 KETCHUM IDAHO" and a beer schooner with a thick head of foam. The word, "GRUMPY'S" arcs over the foam in capital letters, in a stylized, rounded font. Two horizontal lines are placed at the center of the image, so that they appear to run behind the schooner, with the top line being just below the foam, and the bottom line being at the base of the bowl of the schooner. Between these two lines, to the left of the schooner in block letters in a western-type font, is the word "EST.", and to the right of the schooner, in the same font, is the year "1978". Arcing below the Schooner, in the same font, are the words, "KETCHUM IDAHO".
