The color(s) blue, red and yellow is/are claimed as a feature of the mark.
The mark consists of a patch containing the Great Seal of New Jersey and the words New Jersey Transit Police. The patch is a "Shield Shape" with an inner shield in red and an outer shield in blue. The Patch is outlined in yellow. In the top of the shape in yellow is the word "POLICE" in all caps. Along the left side of the shape in yellow is the word "NEW JERSEY" in all caps. Along the right side of the shape in yellow is the word "TRANSIT" in all caps. Inside the patch is a shield with three plows emblazoned. To the left of the shield is a female figure of the Roman Goddess Liberty holding a staff in her right hand. On top of the staff is a liberty cap with blue band at the bottom, containing six stars. To the left of the shield is a female figure of the Roman Goddess Ceres holding an overflowing cornucopia. Above the shield is a sovereign's helmet facing forward. Above the helmet is a horse's head, proper. Underneath the shield and supporting the goddesses is a scroll in three waves or folds; on the upper folds the words "Liberty and Prosperity" on the under fold in Arabic numerals, the figures "1776". Below the scroll is another scroll containing the Arabic numerals, the figures "1983".
