The mark consists of the words "GETREU DEM BAYERISCHEN REINHEITSGEBOT VON 1516" in gold script, beneath which is a circle design outlined in gold, with a white center. The top outer portion of the circle is dark blue and the bottom outer portion is red. In the white center, there is a gold design of wheat outlined in blue. In the top portion of the circle, the word "ERDINGER" appears in white and in the bottom portion, the word "WEISSBRÄU" appears in white. The circle design is flanked by a stylized design of gold wheat shafts. Beneath the circle, a gold banner appears with the words "AUS BAYERN" in blue. Beneath the banner is the stylized word "ERDINGER" in blue. Beneath "Erdinger" is a gold horizontal line, under which the word "Weißbier" appears in gold stylized script. The aforementioned mark is imposed on the image of a drinking glass whose shape and dimensions are depicted in broken lines, and are not claimed as part of the mark.
As to "Erdinger" and "Erdinger Weissbräu"
The color(s) blue, red, gold and white is/are claimed as a feature of the mark.
The English translation of "Getreu dem Bayerischen Reinheitsgebot Von 1516" is "according to the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516"; of "Aus Bayern" is "From Bavaria"; of "Weißbier" is "wheat beer"; and of the individual components "weiss" and "bräu" in the unitary word "Weissbräu" in the mark is , respectively, "white" and "brew". The wording Erdinger has no meaning in a foreign language.
