The top sides of the quasi-polygons are curved to match the curvature of the circle above. (This curvature is why these shapes are termed "quasi"-polygons,) Underneath the symmetrical, polygons are two Chinese characters, jian do, (meaning "health obtained"). Underneath the Chinese characters is the English word GEM in a serif Times-Roman font. The mark has two colors, dark red-orange and dark green. The color dark-red-orange appears in the solid circle at the top and in the word GEM. The color dark-green appears in the two six-sided quasi-polygons and in the Chinese characters.
The Chinese (simplified) characters transliterate to Jian De (Pinyin romanization, and this means "Health Obtained."
