The mark consists of a distinctive series of book covers characterized by a high degree of consistency from book cover to book cover. The covers are divided into four rectangular bands. The largest band, the second from top, features a wrap-around portrait of the book's main character or characters. In every case, the wrap-around character portrait extends over the spine and onto the back portion of the cover as shown in the drawing page and specimen. The relative size of the character remains consistent from book cover to book cover. The covers designs contain a dominant color and a secondary color. The dominant color is always a darker shade than the secondary color. The top and bottom bands feature the dominant color as does most of the back cover. The second band from the bottom consistently features the secondary color. Placement, font style, and character size of text portions also retain consistency from book cover to book cover. The top band features the "Values in Action"® series name and the value relevant to the particular title (e.g. "Responsibility"). The second band from bottom contains the particular book's title in larger type and the author's name in smaller type. On the back cover, the area to the left of the portrait contains the book's title, a summary of the book's plot, and identification of the relevant value in font sizes and styles that remain consistent from book cover to book cover. The slogan "Open a book¿and the world opens to you" consistently appears on the bottom portion of the back cover.
The stippling is a feature of the mark.
