The system uses high-brightness LED lighting elements affixed to wash manifolds or to the car wash equipment infrastructure. The lighting elements are located so as to help users properly align their vehicles relative to the wash equipment. The lighting elements also communicate to users when to enter the wash, remain in position or exit the wash, by blinking, remaining solidly lit, or switching off as appropriate
