The applicant claims color as a feature of the mark, namely, orange, light orange, dark orange, orange red, blue, and white.
The mark consists of three transparent circular disks which have been stacked slightly off center, each disk having a small drop out arc of about 300 degrees located at its respective rim at approximately an 11 o'clock position, each disk arranged in the stack so that its arc overlaps some but not all of the arcs in the other two disks. The colors of the overlapping disks are various shades of orange with the darker orange appearing at the bottom (approximately 6 o'clock position) and progressing towards the lighter shades. A stylized letter "d" and a stylized number "3" appear in white lettering on the bottom portion of the stacked disks. The words "HEARST-ARGYLE" in blue and the word "DIGITAL" in dark orange appear beneath the stack of disks.
