The Squat footstool, when not in use, is slid on the floor against the base of the toilet and is not in anybody's way. For people over 65 years of age, to be nature's squatting position can become difficult. When squatting is desired, the stool can be moved forward about 10" to 12" so one's feet can be placed on squatting footstool. (In any squatting position the knee joints have to be about 4" above the hip joints.)
