The bottom of the drawing depicts a clipper ship in between text ("ADVENTUROUS FOOD TRADERS") and five leaves. The center of the shield depicts a woman on the deck of a ship. Behind the woman are a number of crates, coils of rope and some barrels. The reduction of the drawing has caused some of the lines to blend together. These lines are the links in the rope coils, the wooden slats of the barrels, the wooden planks of the ship's deck, the pleats on the woman's dress, and the text at the top of the shield.
The stippling in the drawing is for shading purposes and the lining in the drawing is a feature of the mark.
